Description: Present owner has 50 years yachting experience and has made this yacht into the most well found 48'/53’ LRC available. Yacht has been kept on the Chesapeake Bay at owner's home. Many lookers at West Marine Trawler Fest said it looked brand new, better than the new boats on display. Boat has been kept in a covered slip north of Seattle and under cover in winter on the Chesapeake when not going South. The only trawler in the 50’ range better than a 48’ Hatteras LRC is a 53’ Hatteras LRC. While others are extending their 48s, Playpen is the only one completed. 11” was also added to the swim platform (really appreciated at floating docks, boarding the dinghy, and with kids swimming). Playpen does not need painting, and the fuel tanks are clean—always! The extension yielded a large lazerette which holds 2 full size mountain bikes (assembled), 2 fiberglass 100 gallon tanks used for water, but could be used for fuel.
Fuel consumption as
experienced by owner: The only reason Playpen is available is we are looking at a larger trawler. For more on Playpen look at www.hatteraslrc.com and Passagemaker magazine April, 2001. Call to see her: Fred Kirsch
